NCC Welcomes New Drama Director

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC WELCOMES KELLY LORENZ AS NEW DRAMA DIRECTOR

Newport Central Catholic High School named Kelly Lorenz as its new drama director.   

Lorenz graduated from Purcell Marian in 1993.  After high school, Lorenz attended Northern Kentucky University where she pursued her lifelong passion for theatre and performance.  In 1997, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis on acting and directing.

Lorenz has performed with several theatre groups including the Cincinnati Children's Theatre at the Taft Theatre, Downtown Theatre Classics at the Aronoff Center, Monmouth Theatre, and The Commonwealth Dinner Theatre.

Lorenz has directed 7 performances for the Junior High Players at St. Catherine of Siena School in Fort Thomas.  Also, she teaches Arts & Humanities to grades K-5 where she directs plays for the primary grades. 

Additionally, Lorenz is affiliated with Dance Etc., a studio in Milford, Ohio where she oversees the youth dance department and teaches ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. 

Ron Dawn, NCC Principal said, “With her passion and experiences with performing and directing, I am confident Ms. Lorenz will bring that same enthusiasm to Newport Central Catholic.  Our students and school community value the high quality performances offered at NCC.  As the Drama Director, we believe Kelly will be an asset to NCC.” 

Lorenz resides in Fort Thomas with her husband Doug, and their four children.   

When asked about taking over the drama program at Newport Central Catholic Lorenz said, "I am very thrilled to be joining the NCC family and I am looking forward to a fantastic play in the spring!”
