In 2008, through the generosity of Dennis and Lois Doyle, Harry and Linda Fath, and the Burke Family, the Michael J. Burke Memorial Scholarship was created.

Mike Burke, a 1961 graduate of Newport Catholic, was the former Managing Partner of the Cincinnati law firm Keating, Muething & Klekamp before his untimely death in 2001.  Mr. Burke had a lot of charitable interests in his life but he always remembered Newport Catholic where he got his start and which launched him into his career he loved so much.

Congratulations to Lexy Breen, Ryan Flanigan, Helena Kaelin, Sarah Krebs, Maddy Halpin, Brady Hicks, Ben Murrin, Gunner Smith, and Rachael Twehues for being selected as Burke Scholar Finalists!  These students have been invited to apply for the Michael J. Burke Scholarship, NCC's most prestigious scholarship offered to rising seniors.  Finalists were chosen based on good academic standing, leadership skills, the students' impact on our school community, and the recommendation of faculty and staff.  The recipient of the scholarship will be chosen by the end of this school year and recognized at the Academic Awards ceremony next fall.  It is a great honor to be invited to apply for the Michael J. Burke Scholarship.
