NCCHS Welcomes Greg J. Greene as New Tennis Coach

WELCOMES GREG J. GREENE AS NEW GIRLS AND BOYS TENNIS COACH

Newport Central Catholic High School named Greg J. Greene as its new girls and boys tennis coach.

Greg will fill the vacant position left by Coach Bill Detzel.    

Greene is a graduate of The Ohio State University and graduated high school in Tipp City, Ohio where he played competitive tennis most of his life.  He was 2-time 1st Team All-Conference Single Player, All Area Singles Player, Conference Champion, Ohio Sectional Champion in Doubles, and Ohio District Runner-up in Doubles. 

In 2011, after a successful career in the finance industry, Greg joined Strategic Advisors in Covington, Kentucky as a partner.  He is the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and a member of the executive committee.  At the firm, he works in the area of business consulting, public education, political consulting, and video and audio productions. 

Jimmy Ryan, NCC Athletic Director said, “Greg Greene is involved and passionate about his community.  As a parent to a current NCC freshman, he has already given so much of his time and talent to NCC in various aspects.  We are fortunate to have him in our NewCath Community.  His experience and excitement will make for a smooth transition for our tennis program.”

When asked about taking over the tennis program Greene said, “I am grateful to be given the opportunity to work with such outstanding faculty, coaches, and young men and women at Newport Central Catholic.  As a former competitive player, I look forward to helping our young athletes improve and compete at a high level.”

Greg lives with his wife and family in Taylor Mill, Kentucky.
